The Holly Springs Police Department's 2024 annual report counts 24 vehicle thefts, up from 11, and links the rise to thefts of Kia and Hyundai vehicles, often by groups of juveniles exploiting an ignition design flaw, and to thefts of high-performance Dodge vehicles linked to an organized group. The report says both groups came from outside Holly Springs.10
  • The same report says burglaries fell 35 percent in 2024, partly because a serial commercial burglar was caught in a regional investigation that included Holly Springs investigators. It also says larcenies from motor vehicles dropped below the five-year average.10
  • The department's 2025 annual report shows every property crime category lower than in 2024. For example, larceny fell from 6.4 to 5.52 incidents per 1,000 residents and burglary from 0.73 to 0.56. After shoplifting peaked in mid-2025, police analyzed incident patterns and repeat locations and worked with local businesses on enforcement and prevention, which the report credits with reducing reported shoplifting.11
