- The Morrisville Police Department serves the Town of Morrisville, which the FBI lists in both Wake and Durham counties. Raleigh-Durham International Airport has its own police agency that reports to the FBI separately, and nearby unincorporated areas are covered by county sheriffs, so neither is in Morrisville's figures.9

Alarm rules and tips for Morrisville
Local alarm rules. Morrisville adopted a revised alarm ordinance (Ordinance 2026-294-0) on September 8, 2026, effective January 1, 2027. Under it, three or more false alarms at a location within 12 months is a violation, with civil penalties set in the Town's fee schedule. Penalties are due within 30 days, and unpaid penalties can bring a late fee and, with the police chief's written notice, discontinued police response to that alarm. Alarm companies must call to verify an alarm before requesting police, including a second call to a different number if the first gets no answer. Panic and robbery alarms and crimes verified by video or audio are exempt. Local alarms may not be audible outside a building for more than 15 minutes, and penalties can be appealed to the Town Manager within 15 business days. The old article applied only to nonresidential property. The new definition covers any intrusion or hold-up alarm that calls for a police response, except vehicle, fire, domestic violence and medical alarms. Source.
Registration. Many Triangle towns ask monitored alarm systems to be registered and charge for repeat false alarms. Our alarm registration guide has the current rules and links, and we help you register when we install.
Switching companies. Already have a system? Wired sensors can often be reused with a new panel. Some panels are locked by the old dealer; we check on the visit and tell you plainly. How switching works.
"Chad did a great job with the installation. Josh did a great job with the internal set-up. Kirsten was great in getting the project coordinated for a positive result. Thanks to all!"
