Structured Wiring and Prewire in Raleigh and the Triangle

The cable behind your security system, cameras, Wi-Fi, TVs and speakers, run and labeled before the insulation goes in. For new homes, renovations, apartments and offices.

Every cable planned before the walls close

Scroll to watch a prewire go in. Each run starts at one labeled panel and ends where a device will live.

  1. Central wiring panelEvery cable runs back to one structured media enclosure and is labeled there.
  2. SecurityAlarm cable to doors, windows and keypad spots, so those sensors never need batteries.
  3. Cameras and doorbellCat6 to every camera spot and the doorbell. One cable carries power and video.
  4. Network and Wi-FiCat6 to offices and TVs, plus ceiling spots for access points so Wi-Fi reaches every room.
  5. AudioSpeaker wire to in-ceiling and in-wall speaker locations.

Where we fit in your build

Four visits. Nothing left in the walls to guess about.

We show up at the right stages of construction, so the cable goes in once and the systems work on move-in day.

  1. Plan walkBefore or at framing

We walk the plans room by room and mark every drop.

  2. FramingYour builder

Walls, floors and roof go up.

  3. Rough-inBefore insulation

We run and label every cable back to one central panel.

  4. Insulation and drywallYour builder

The walls close with the wiring already inside.

  5. Trim-outAfter paint

Keypads, cameras, jacks and speakers go on the walls.

  6. Move-inActivation

We turn systems on, test them and show you how they work.

Timing matters

Wire it now, or open walls later

Once insulation and drywall go in, every new cable means holes, patching and paint.

Before insulation

Wired during the build

  • Cable hidden inside the walls and ceilings
  • No patching, sanding or repainting
  • Every room planned at once, including spots for later
  • Labeled home runs to one panel for easy service
After drywall

Added after move-in

  • Access holes in finished walls and ceilings
  • Patching and paint touch-ups
  • Some rooms may need surface raceway or wireless gear
  • More labor for the same result

The wiring is the easy part to forget and the hardest to add

Structured wiring is the backbone for everything you add later: smart home systems, security cameras, fast internet and office networks.

Because we prewire and install the systems ourselves, the same local team that ran the cable activates your security, cameras and Wi-Fi, and services them for years.

"Ken and his team are highly dependable. They planned the entire security system and home networking for the future. Most importantly, they are easily contactable and solve problems asap. You won't be disappointed."

Questions

Structured wiring FAQ

When should prewire happen?
After framing and before insulation. That is when every wall and ceiling is open. Tell us your insulation date early and we will schedule the plan walk and rough-in around it.
Can you wire a home that is already finished?
Yes. We do retrofit wiring through attics, crawlspaces and existing paths. Some rooms may need small access holes, and we tell you where before we start.
What is the central panel?
A structured media enclosure where every cable in the house ends and is labeled. Your internet, network switch and video recorder can live there, which makes service and upgrades simple.
Why wire cameras instead of using Wi-Fi cameras?
A wired camera gets power and video over one cable, so there are no batteries to charge and no Wi-Fi dropouts. You can still add wireless cameras later where a cable cannot reach.
Do you work directly with my builder?
Yes. We coordinate with your builder on schedule and access. If your builder is not already working with us, see our builder program.
Do you wire offices and apartments?
Yes. We install structured wiring for new construction and retrofits in homes, apartments and office buildings.
